Frequently asked questions

Short answers based on public SIMA documentation. For account-specific help, email the SIMA team.

What is SIMA?

SIMA is wallet-first digital asset protection for people, bots, and AI agents. You buy protection, get a certificate with locked terms, and can submit a claim later if needed.

Does SIMA hold my keys?

No. SIMA is non-custodial. Login proves wallet ownership with a signature challenge. SIMA does not receive your private keys.

What does a certificate mean?

It records that you paid the premium and locks your protection terms. It gives you the right to submit a claim for investigation. It does not mean automatic approval or payout.

Are claims automatic?

No. Every claim is investigated. There is no automatic claim approval and no automatic payout.

Which chain is the production agent purchase flow on?

The published production agent purchase and premium path is Solana (SOL payments). Always check OpenAPI and llms.txt for current contract details.

Can AI agents use SIMA?

Yes. Agents can use the public OpenAPI flow, the TypeScript SDK (@sima-prime/agent-sdk), and the MCP server (@sima-prime/mcp-server).

What are the V1 economic terms?

Premium 5%, coverage 50%, deductible 10%, maximum net payment 40% of the protected amount, priced in the protected contract asset (not USD).

How long does protection last?

Published timing: protection window is 5 minutes after premium payment; certificate lifetime is 24 hours; claim window is 24 hours. Quote and payment windows are short (30 seconds each).

What is the difference between premium payment and protected trade verification?

Premium payment is what activates the certificate (you pay SIMA). Protected trade verification is separate evidence of a qualifying protected-token purchase linked to that certificate. A certificate can be ACTIVE with premium paid even if no protected trade has been verified yet.

What isn't covered?

Do not assume normal market price moves are covered. Eligibility is decided per claim against the locked certificate terms. A certificate is not a promise that every claim will be paid.
